Weekly Lesson Materials for 1st and 2nd year students

💡 Although students should prepare this material, they might not play all of it each week. Students should continue learning material, and be prepared with a backlog of repertoire as the semester advances, to allow for weeks with less time for learning later in the semester. Consistency is key.

Each week, students will be prepared with:
- 2 mallet etude
- 4 mallet etude, chosen from
- 4 mallet repertoire as possible
- chosen in consort with teacher
- Snare drum
- 1 Cirone or concert snare etude and/or 1 Wilcoxen, Pratt, or other rudimental etude
- Timpani
- Benchmarks
- ½ through the semester: see Dr. Compitello for check in
- If possible:
- 4 mallet repertoire, chosen in consort with teacher

💡 Teachers will mark repertoire performed in weekly lesson progress reports. If a piece is not heard in a lesson, the student should continue learning new notes, creating a backlog of learned material.

Technology
Students are expected to use the following technologies:
- Slack:
- Students are expected to be a member of the Percussion Studio Slack channel (http://asupercussion.slack.com) and to monitor conversations every day. Slack will be used for assignments, discussion, and studio-wide communication. Having trouble accessing Slack? Click here
